Risk Disclosure

Understand the risks of Bitcoin cloud mining — price volatility, network difficulty, halving events, and market conditions that affect returns.

Important Notice

Cloud mining involves significant financial risk. The value of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is highly volatile, and past performance is never a guarantee of future results. You could lose some or all of your investment.

This page explains the risks associated with using NoxHash's cloud mining services. You must read and understand these risks before renting any mining machine. By using our platform, you acknowledge that you have read this disclosure and accept full responsibility for your investment decisions.

Never invest more than you can afford to lose. NoxHash does not provide financial advice. If you are unsure about any aspect of cryptocurrency mining, consult an independent financial advisor.

Cryptocurrency Price Volatility

Bitcoin's price is inherently volatile. It can rise or fall 10-20% in a single day, and swings of 30-50% over several weeks are not uncommon. This volatility directly impacts your mining returns because your earnings are denominated in BTC while your rental costs are fixed in USD.

To illustrate: if you rent a machine for $100/month and Bitcoin is at $60,000, your BTC earnings have a clear USD equivalent. But if Bitcoin drops to $30,000 during your rental period, the same amount of BTC you mine is now worth half as much in dollar terms. Conversely, if Bitcoin rises to $90,000, your returns improve significantly. You are exposed to the full upside and downside of Bitcoin's price movements.

Historical Bitcoin drawdowns include drops of over 80% from all-time highs (2014, 2018, 2022). While Bitcoin has historically recovered from these drawdowns, recovery periods have taken months to years, and there is no guarantee that past recovery patterns will repeat.

Mining Difficulty & Network Changes

Bitcoin's mining difficulty adjusts approximately every two weeks (every 2,016 blocks) based on the total computational power (hashrate) on the network. When more miners join the network, difficulty increases and each miner earns proportionally less BTC. When miners leave, difficulty decreases.

Over Bitcoin's history, network difficulty has trended upward as more powerful hardware enters the market and more participants join. This means that the same machine will generally mine less BTC over time, even if it operates perfectly.

Key Point

Estimated earnings shown on our platform are based on current difficulty levels. These figures change constantly and should not be treated as projections of future income.

Bitcoin Halving Events

Approximately every four years (every 210,000 blocks), the Bitcoin block reward is cut in half. This is a fundamental, programmed feature of Bitcoin's monetary policy, and it directly reduces mining revenue by 50% overnight.

Year Block Reward Reduction
2009 (Genesis) 50 BTC —
2012 (1st Halving) 25 BTC -50%
2016 (2nd Halving) 12.5 BTC -50%
2020 (3rd Halving) 6.25 BTC -50%
2024 (4th Halving) 3.125 BTC -50%
~2028 (5th Halving) 1.5625 BTC -50%

While historically Bitcoin's price has increased after halving events (partly due to reduced supply), this is not guaranteed to continue. If the price does not increase sufficiently to offset the reduced block reward, mining profitability will decline. The next halving is expected around 2028.

No Guaranteed Returns

NoxHash provides estimated earnings ranges for each machine tier. These estimates are based on current market conditions, current network difficulty, and current Bitcoin price. They are not promises, projections, or guarantees of future performance.

Estimates ARE

Snapshots of potential earnings based on today's conditions. They update as conditions change.

Estimates are NOT

Guarantees, contractual obligations, or financial promises. Actual results may be significantly higher or lower.

Your approach

Treat estimates as a reference point, not a target. Do your own research and make decisions based on your risk tolerance.

The 115-125% return range shown on our marketplace reflects what machines have historically produced under favorable conditions. Under unfavorable conditions, returns can drop below 100%, meaning you could receive less value than what you paid for the rental.

Fixed Costs vs Variable Earnings

This is the core economic tension of cloud mining, and it is critical that you understand it clearly.

Your rental fee is fixed in USD (paid in USDT). Whether you rent a Basic machine at $20/month or an Enterprise machine at $250/month, that cost does not change based on market conditions. However, your earnings are in BTC, which fluctuates in value every second.

Favorable Conditions

Bitcoin price trending upward

Stable or declining difficulty

Long period since last halving

Positive market sentiment

Returns likely exceed rental cost

Unfavorable Conditions

Bitcoin price declining or stagnant

Rapidly increasing difficulty

Near or right after a halving event

Bear market or regulatory crackdown

Returns may fall below rental cost

NoxHash includes a danger threshold system on the marketplace that warns you when current market conditions suggest that a machine's profitability may be low. We strongly encourage you to pay attention to these warnings and delay your rental if conditions are unfavorable.

When NOT to Invest

Most cloud mining platforms will never tell you this. We will: there are times when you should not rent a mining machine.

When Bitcoin has dropped significantly

If BTC price has fallen 30%+ from recent highs, your fixed-cost rental is less likely to be profitable in the short term. Wait for stabilization before committing funds.

When you cannot afford to lose the money

Cloud mining is speculative. Only use disposable income that will not affect your ability to pay rent, bills, or other financial obligations if lost entirely.

When the danger threshold is active

Our platform shows warnings when current conditions make a machine unlikely to be profitable. These warnings exist for your protection. Respect them.

When you expect guaranteed returns

If you are looking for a fixed-income investment, cloud mining is not appropriate. Returns vary and can be negative in dollar terms.

We designed our free trial specifically so that you can evaluate the platform without any financial risk. Trial earnings do not credit to your wallet, but the experience gives you a realistic understanding of how mining works before you commit real money.

Regulatory & Legal Risks

Cryptocurrency regulations vary significantly across jurisdictions and are evolving rapidly. Risks in this category include:

Changes to local law. Your country or region may introduce regulations that restrict, tax, or ban cryptocurrency mining, trading, or ownership. NoxHash cannot predict or prevent regulatory changes in your jurisdiction.

Taxation. Mining income may be subject to income tax, capital gains tax, or other taxes in your country. You are solely responsible for understanding and complying with your local tax obligations. NoxHash does not provide tax advice.

Kazakhstan regulatory changes. While Kazakhstan currently has a supportive legal framework for cryptocurrency mining, this could change. Any significant regulatory shift in our operating jurisdiction could affect service availability, operational costs, or the platform's ability to continue operating.

International sanctions. Changes in international sanctions regimes could affect the ability of users in certain countries to access our services or withdraw funds.

Technology & Operational Risks

While NoxHash invests heavily in operational reliability, no system is immune to failure. Potential risks include:

Hardware Failure

ASIC miners run 24/7 under extreme thermal conditions. Components fail. Our team replaces faulty units within 4-8 hours, but some downtime may occur.

Power Outages

Our Kazakhstan facility uses industrial power at $0.035/kWh with backup systems. However, extended grid failures or natural disasters could interrupt operations.

Network Issues

Internet connectivity between our facility and mining pools could be disrupted, temporarily preventing hash submission and affecting earnings.

Platform Security

While we implement industry-standard security measures, no online platform is entirely immune to cyberattacks, data breaches, or software vulnerabilities.

NoxHash maintains a 99.9% uptime target and employs 24/7 on-site engineering staff. However, our uptime guarantee applies to our best operational efforts, not a contractual promise of zero interruption.

Liquidity Risks

Your ability to convert mining earnings into spendable funds depends on several factors beyond NoxHash's control:

Withdrawal processing. While we process withdrawals promptly, Bitcoin transactions require blockchain confirmations that typically take 10-60 minutes, but can take longer during periods of network congestion.

Blockchain congestion. During periods of high demand, Bitcoin transaction fees increase significantly, and confirmations may take hours or even days. This can delay your ability to access funds when you need them.

Exchange liquidity. Converting BTC to your local currency requires a cryptocurrency exchange. Exchange availability, fees, withdrawal limits, and processing times are outside our control.

Minimum withdrawal amounts. NoxHash enforces minimum withdrawal thresholds to manage transaction costs. Small balances may need to accumulate before they can be withdrawn.

Your Responsibilities

By using NoxHash, you accept the following responsibilities:

1

Conduct your own research. Do not rely solely on NoxHash's estimates or materials when making investment decisions. Research Bitcoin, mining economics, and market conditions independently.

2

Understand your financial limits. Never invest money you cannot afford to lose. Cloud mining should be treated as a high-risk, speculative activity.

3

Comply with local laws. Ensure that cryptocurrency mining and trading are legal in your jurisdiction, and fulfill all tax reporting obligations.

4

Secure your account. Use strong, unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication. NoxHash is not liable for losses resulting from compromised credentials.

5

Monitor your investments. Regularly review your mining performance, market conditions, and the danger threshold warnings on our platform.

6

Seek professional advice. If you are uncertain about any aspect of cryptocurrency investment, consult a qualified financial advisor before proceeding.
